Vintage Sweets of the Ginsea Shore

I fucking love New Jersey. What's not to love? They got nice beaches, boardwalks, forests, farms, pizza, custard, animatronic gorillas arguing in helicopters. The works. When I was farming in eastern PA, the shore held some of my fondest memories. The whole dairy crew got a vacation to the shore in the summer of '16 and gosh it was such a blast. We had a cooler full of mayonnaise, tomatoes, bread, and cheese (made from our cows' milk!). And the Village at Allaire State Park! So many fond memories, but this is a gaming blog.

Back in the summer of '20, I had planned an Electric Bastionland game with my friends from Kansas. I had just been back from PA at the end of '19 and the memories of summers on the shore took over my mind as I conceived of the Ginsea Shore. Most of what I had prepared was lost to time as the game never took place and I have moved multiple time since then. But I remember a few sweet morsels that I could spin into sufficient snacks.

Salt Water Taffalo
11HP, STR 15, Candy Horns (d8, d12 if charging)
- Usually nonviolent, unless defending her talves.
- On critical damage: wounds crystalize, blood turns syrupy over the course of d4 days at which point survivor becomes taffified, subtract 1d6 STR and add to DEX as their flesh becomes malleable, stretchy and sweet.

Sugar Laddies (and Ladies)
8HP, STR 6, DEX 16, Licorice Whips (d6)
- Street youths who use saccharine pick-up lines often offering flowers to random passerby.

Ginsea Lighthouse

L1 R1 - Roaring Fireplaces
A warm spot where many community members gather to roast chestnuts. The walls are covered in taxidermied fish and seabeasts, a giant chandelier made of albatross wings hangs from the ceiling.

L1 R2 - Living History Kitchen
Historic Reenactor churning butter. Gets really upset if anyone tries to make her break character.

L1 R3 - Moon Room
The entirety of this room glows a pale golden green, its constructed from a sort of pumice which radiates frost from its many pinholes. The Spiral staircase to L2 is slippery with ice

L1 R4 - Gift Shop
Attendant very pushy that visitors spend $30 on a plastic replica of the lighthouse. Some of the postcards are genuinely beautiful.

L2 - Lunatic Statue
Chartreuse marble statue of a headless figure sat astride a hippogriff, one arm holds a moonstone staff, and what appears to be a humanoid head made of solid emerald is tucked beneath its other arm.

L3 - Molasses Lake
A slow suffocating portal to the elemental plane of sugar. The ladder to L4 is on the other side from the ladder to L2

L4 - Moon Jelly's Office
Filled with human bones, crumpled paper, and slime everywhere. A telescope looks out a massive hole in the wall.

Moon Jelly
15 HP, STR 7, Pseudopod (d8)
- Attempting to write a book of poetry and desperately chasing its muse.
- On critical damage: absorbs victim and begins to digest, 1d6 freezing STR damage each round until dead.

L5 - Carousel of the Moon
A glowing carousel of hippogriffs provides the light for the lighthouse. The Carousel itself spins Moonlight into Moon Thread. Anything sewn using Moon Thread glows in the dark and exudes cold vapor. Used but Lunatics to make their advanced armors.
